Questions

When is the SMS deadline for Part 135?

14 CFR 5.9(a): a person authorized to conduct operations under Part 135 before May 28, 2024 must develop and implement an SMS that meets Part 5 and submit a declaration of compliance to the FAA no later than May 28, 2027.

Do we need a General Operations Manual?

14 CFR 135.21(a) requires each certificate holder, other than one that uses only one pilot in its operations, to prepare and keep current a manual setting forth its procedures and policies acceptable to the Administrator.

Our helicopter cannot take a radio altimeter. What then?

14 CFR 135.160(b) allows the FAA to authorize a deviation for rotorcraft that are unable to incorporate a radio altimeter, for rotorcraft with a maximum gross takeoff weight no greater than 2,950 pounds. The request must state the circumstances and justification.

Are your prices the same as for airplane operators?

Yes. Documents priced by aircraft class price a single-engine helicopter at the turboprop row and a twin at the light or midsize jet row. Everything else has one flat fee.
